Beauty Favorites and Breaking Night Memoir

This month’s beauty favorites and Breaking Night book recommendation are things that have been on my radar recently. Click here to read last month’s faves. Read on to hear why I recommend these items.

September Beauty Favorites

Colorescience Lip ShineColorescience Lip Shines – I was gifted all 5 shades from Colorescience and I instantly fell in love with every single one. Coral is my fave at the moment.  Each lip shine has an SPF of 35, a natural shine (with just a touch of color), and is water resistant.  They have a nice texture and don’t feel sticky on my lips. Definitely my favorite lip glosses as of right now.  I use them everyday!

Pixi Beauty Glow-y Powder in Rome Rose – The color reminds me of The Balm’s Hot Mama Blush. This blush leaves a very subtle glow on the skin and the color is so natural.  It can work on any skin tone. I don’t use this everyday but apply it for nights out because of the glow.

Paula's Choice RESIST Anti-Aging Eye GelPaula’s Choice RESIST Anti-Aging Eye Gel – I haven’t used this product for a long time (probably a couple of weeks) but I love the applicator. When you squeeze the tube, the product comes out directly on its metal applicator which is a nice alternative to using your fingers. This gel helps eliminate signs of aging, hydrates, minimizes fine lines, and visibly brightens. I definitely have seen less puffiness right after using. I am also starting to see less fine lines at the corners of my eyes. Can’t wait to see more results soon!

Dermalogica PreCleanse Balm and Cleansing Mitt – Getting makeup off every night with just a wipe is a challenge. This product was a welcome gift from Dermalogica. Here is their description of this product – PreCleanse Balm is a water-activated balm that removes makeup, excess sebum (oil), debris and pollutants for a deeper cleanse. They sent also sent the double-sided Cleansing Mitt which mildly exfoliates.  I noticed after one use that I didn’t have morning raccoon eyes.  It really helps get all my mascara off!

Breaking Night

Breaking Night – a memoir by Liz Murray – is one of the most inspiring books I have read recently.  I was so moved by Liz Murray’s true story of her journey from homelessness to Harvard.  I had to read this for my last book club pick and I was literally crying by the end of it. Some parts of the book were extremely hard to get through but it was definitely worth it. Get this book!

Have you used any of these products or read this book? Let me know if the comments and have a wonderful day!
