Yellow Floral Maxi Skirt with Slit

This long floral skirt by Zaful make me feel like the dancing woman emoji in the red dress. The floral print and thigh high slit details balance each other out which makes this look modern without being too sweet.

Bright yellow was a big color for summer this year.  Since we are moving into fall, this mustard yellow skirt is a nice way to keep that trend going but with a fall touch. Florals continue to be big this fall. (See Wednesday’s post here for the scoop on that.) I hesitate to wear florals sometimes because I don’t want my style to come off too girly.  The sexy slit of this fun skirt is what made me choose this skirt from Zaful and venture into floral territory.

How to Style a Long Maxi Skirt

Maxi skirts are so perfect for fall but it can be tricky for a petite person like me.  The key to making it work is to show off the shape of your body.  Maxi skirts tend to be voluminous so be sure to wear a fitted top with them. This skirt is high-waisted so tucking in my long sleeved top was important because you don’t want to hide this detail. Also make sure to sport some type of heel when you wear a skirt like this because you don’t want to look stumpy.  Unless you are six feet tall, you need some type of shoe to lengthen your leg. Do you wear maxi skirts in fall?

So what’s on tap this weekend for you?  It’s my son’s Homecoming weekend at his high school so there will a parade and a football game that he will march in. Sometime I can’t believe that I’m old enough to have a son in high school. Have a fantastic weekend!
