Favorite Fall Trends of 2017 featuring Moody Florals, Red, Statement Booties, and Leather

Since it’s almost the end of New York Fashion Week, I thought I would share my favorite (and most wearable) fall fashion trends of 2017.  I chose Moody Florals, Red (Oxblood and Burgundy too!), Statement Booties, and Leather. There are several more trends besides these but I believe anyone can rock my choices. Each trend can be added very minimally with accessories (excluding booties). Read on to see how to style each one and to see my picks. Click on the images in each lookbook below to get more details.

Moody Florals

Florals have been around for a couple of seasons now but I love this season especially because it edgier and less sweet.  Go ahead and rock your leather jacket with a darker floral dress or tie a floral scarf to your classic bag. For people who are afraid of color, try this trend because you can get a black floral print that just has hints of color.  This will change up the whole vibe of your monochromatic wardrobe.

Red/Burgundy/Oxblood

Burgundy and Oxblood were around last season and I couldn’t get enough of them. The good news is that they are here to stay. (I promise you I will be pulling out my oxblood over the knee boots. See that post here.) Red is the new addition and it’s not just the typical red dress so make a statement with a red bag or heels if you afraid to take this trend all the way.

Statement Booties

Everyone will notice you with a pair of statement booties and it’s the easiest way to incorporate a fall trend into your wardrobe. (Just throw on your jeans and a t-shirt!) These babies will be the star of the show but feel free to wear a contrasting print to your boots to really get noticed.  Embroidery is probably the most popular detail with this trend. It that’s too boho for you, there are several other vibes to choose from.

Leather

Leather jackets always have been a wardrobe staple so keep wearing them because they work with so many looks.  This season, designers are showing leather in tops, skirts, dresses and they wore leather from head to toe on the runways.  Too afraid of looking like a biker babe? Wear one item or go for suede which is a much subtle version of this trend. I have already bought a faux leather croc mini skirt which I will styling soon on the blog.

Which trend is your favorite and are there any others I should have included? Let me know in the comments and happy Wednesday!
