Embroidered Denim Shorts by Kathrine Eldridge, Wardrobe Stylist

Two posts with shorts in one week? What is happening? I had to share these embroidered denim shorts because they are so comfy and unique. These were also from my most recent Nuuly box.

Summer Shorts

As I had mentioned in Monday’s post, I can’t believe that I found another pair of shorts to wear this summer! I am not a shorts gal but when you find ones that fit you go for it. I think the common denominator with these shorts and the ones I shared on Monday is that they both are not fitted on my thighs. I’m so glad to see that the shape of shorts this season is so different.

The embroidery on these shorts is such an unexpected detail. It’s important to show that off so I decided to half-tuck in this green tank. I also added this floral leather belt to show off my waist more. The floral motif really complements the embroidery nicely. (The wedges are a new purchase and I will share the details of them next week.)

Black Lives Matter

So I wanted to take time to talk about what I’ve been doing in this watershed moment in our history. First off, I am appalled and saddened by the death of George Floyd among the many others deaths that have gone unnoticed. I’ve been closely watching on social media many POC and listening to what they suggest to move forward. I consider myself to be a white peacemaker and this is the message that has come out loud and clear to me during this week of reflection.

I am sorry, I am listening, and I am learning.

In order to help our black brothers and sisters, I need to educate myself and that is what I’m doing. I ordered the book, White Fragility – Why it’s so Hard for White People to Talk about Racism. This is just the tip of the iceberg in gathering information about how to move forward. There is so much out there but I going to take it one step at a time.

I am praying for peace and love in everyone’s hearts as we journey forward.

Have a blessed weekend! XO
