Denim Dress Diva by Kathrine Eldridge, Wardrobe Stylist

For this first post of the year, I am a denim dress diva. I’ve styled this dress in the past on the blog but this time I’m wearing it over a different pair of printed leggings.

How to Wear a Dress Over Pants

This trend of wearing a dress over pants is front and center at the moment. I think it’s perfect timing with the chilly weather of winter. There is one tip I have if you venture into styling an outfit like this. Make sure that the pants are fitted at the bottom. Dresses tend to flow off the body so you want to balance that out with a fitted pant. This is the most flattering way to wear a dress over pants.

There are so many options of leggings/pants/jeggings out there at the moment so go ahead and give this styling trick a go. I do recommend that you keep the pants and dress in the same color palette. Too much contrast will make the look costume-like. Have you every tried wearing dress with pants?

It’s Good to Be Back!

I really enjoyed my time away from the blog and social media. Taking this break always gives me a fresh perspective on what I want to accomplish personally and professionally in the new year. Here are a couple of my plans for the new year.

  • Continue to blog three times a week with less focus on fast fashion. (I’m realizing how destructive these clothes are to our environment.) I would love to work with what I already have in my closet. I also want to blog more about faith on my Wednesday’s posts.
  • Continue to focus on my flute playing. I have another competition that I am applying for in February. This break gave me the extra practice time I needed.
  • While I want to accomplish a lot when it comes to my blog and my flute playing, I want to make sure I’m following the Lord’s plan for me and not what I think it should be. When I want something, I go for it and put all my energy towards it. That’s normally a good thing but sometimes it’s not for the right reasons. I need to rely on Him to show me what’s best to focus on. (This is so hard to do!)

I would love to hear what you are focusing on in the new year. Have a terrific week! XO
